Our mission

Our Mission

The desire of our Foundress, Mary of Providence, to not “specialize” her Congregation in any one particular form of commitment frees us, even today, to assume diverse tasks.

We try to adapt ourselves with realism to events and to an evolving world and society, in order to better announce the Good News of Salvation, and to witness to the hope that lives in us.

In our choices we give priority to those who are forgotten, those who are wounded in their human dignity, and those who are in greatest need of hearing the Good News” (Const. 29).

Concretely, in the China-India Group this orientation is embodied in different forms of services and commitments. Every sister is called to share her own skills and knowledge at the service of the people.

For instance, we are committed to empower women, and to avoid early marriages: in our Study Houses, young Indian girls from underprivileged backgrounds, find sisters ready to support them in their studies (Class XI and XII), and in their growth as self-reliant women. They are encouraged to discover and develop their own skills and talents, through different trainings and activities – and to continue their further education, even through provided sponsorships.

We offer Tailoring Trainings to tribal women in their villages, encouraging them to uplift their financial situations through their acquired skills.

We work for the education of children and youth in villages and brickfields, establishing Tuition Centres in cooperation with local people.

There are Helper sisters working in Schools run by other Organizations or Congregations – especially for kids with special needs.

We work in Health Services, in different ways and contexts: either in Government and Private Hospitals, or in our Centres (rural areas), using Allopathic or Alternative Medicine, like Reflexology and Herbal Medicine. We organize Health and Hygiene Awareness’ programs in rural areas.

Several Helpers offer their competences as Psychology counsellors to youth and women, cooperating with Schools and Colleges, or in our own Centres.

Spiritual accompaniment and faith formation is also offered to different people, as well as Bible formation and various pastoral services in local parishes.

There are sisters cooperating in Archdioceses’ services.
