Friends of Hope in Hong Kong

Our Lay Associates’ Group that was founded in 1964, is deeply rooted in the Charisma of Mary of Providence. It forms the biggest Lay organization present in Hong Kong’s Diocese numbering around 4100 people.
They wish to live the Helper Charisma in their day everyday life, according to their condition of lay people.
At present they are accompanied by sister Agathe Lim, the only Helper remaining in Hong Kong. She is supported in her task by a core group numbering around 90 Associates.

20 of them meet every month with sister Agathe, sharing on the Biography of Mary of Providence. Each year, two Masses are organized for the departed members of the Associates, in Springtime and in Autumn. These Masses require a long preparation, because of the huge number of people involved. The Masses are always followed by a fellowship meal: every member present is invited to join, in order to enhance the friendship and the spirit of communion.Besides, there are several spiritual activities which sr. Agathe organizes for them: 3 days retreat each year and pilgrimages at the Institute’s foundation places or wherever there are Helpers’ communities (so far they went to France, Italy, Hungary, Austria). Often they go with sr. Agathe to Taiwan.Sometimes there are occasions of meeting among the Friends of Hope and Indian sisters.
